My daughter put a big dent in the right panel above the wheel of car.
I'm going to have to pay for the repair out of pocket because I don't want to put it through insurance (they would jack up the ins. premium if I do).
Can someone let me know what would be the approximate cost to replace the front right panel for a 2011 Honda Odyssey?
I heard that that there may be a big discrepancy going from 1 body shop to the next. I just want to know how much would be reasonable for a repair like this.
Thanks

Can you post a picture? Its hard to give estimates when you cannot see the damaged area.

If your willing to accept an aftermarket fender. You ought to be able to get it replaced for around $450.

The front right panel (fender?) is dented but the bumper seems to be fine, I'm hoping to replace as little as possible for the lowest possible cost.

From the pictures that looks like an easy repair without replacement.
Stay away from dealers and try a couple of local body shops.

A couple of things to be aware of before you look for the cheapest shop. You could have a damaged headlight mounts(famous for breaking in this type of collision)as well as the black plastic retainer the the side of the bumper clips into. The fender can be repaired but if the 3-4 hr repair(depending on the shops hourly labour rate) could be the same as the price for a new AM fender. If you want a good color match the paint will have to be blended.

Sorry I don't have any knowledge of auto body at all, if these items are damaged, how much more would it cost?

You need to just go get some quotes from independent body shops. Tell them you will be paying cash and want to avoid filling on your insurance. i doubt the headlight mounts are broke. But the bumper retainer is likely damaged but it is just around $15 part. You just need to get quotes it could be anywhere from $400 to $1200 depending what shop you go to.

I can live with $400, but $1200 is an OUCH.
Thanks for all the responses, it really helps to have a rough idea of the range for the approximate cost in order for me to shop around and avoid being ripped off.
