Scott, you are as usual correct and I should not have tossed Matrix onto that list -- I totally forgot how expensive it is especially their flagship products like MS-42.

Here are some interesting facts if you look at the comparison of MS-42 to the Tamco HC-2100:

HC-2100 is 40% solids by weight, MS-42 is 49%
They are both a 2:1 mix
HC-2100 is a 4.2 VOC product, MS-42 is 4.3
Film build is the same
HC-2100 is around half the price of MS-42

I've never shot that Matrix clear and if you say it is excellent I take that as a fact. I think you'd like the HC-2100, it's also an excellent clear. This was done at my home, yesterday. I know photos of clear coat do nothing to prove anything but I was trying to capture the "plastic coating" look this clear has on the edges - not thin at all and very glossy. This was off the gun, after 24 hours dry time.

Let me know if you want to give this clear a try - I think you'd be surprised. I sell to several repeat customers doing custom work.

Would you recommend the slow hardener?
