Clear coat a few hours after base. Should I sand base?

It was going to rain so I couldn't spray clear.
I'll spray clear probably tomorrow morning, which means about 20 hours after base.

Check the TDS for the base that you're using. Some allow up to 24 hours.

Definitely do not sand the base coat if within the window. If you go past the window then you may need to lightly scuff it up and reapply. That's an awful waste and may impact on the quality of your final job.

Are you spraying outside? Only ask cause I usually get cleaner/smoother paint work when it's raining.
When I've had to let base sit to long. I just lightly scuff with grey scotch tac and blow off. Then sprayed with a overly reduced base to soften. Then finished as usual.
If it ain't BROKE fix it till it is!!
