It would help to know what you are spraying and how you sprayed it.
What gun did you use, what were the settings, etc.?

If that is a Single Stage Paint you are looking at improper gun settings, technique and possibly activator speed.

Its single stage hot rod satin Summit paint mixed per directions on the back, 4:1:1. Im using a Devilbliss with a 1.5 tip. My only guess would be the compressor wont keep up, but thats just a guess. It didnt seem like it was atomizing the paint as I was spraying.

Weird thing is, it feels smooth. It looks pretty nice until you put light on it, then all those different speckles really start to show.

What size compressor? You doing a small panel or an entire car?

You have a filter dryer?

4 CFM @ 90 PSI, 6 CFM @ 40 PSI with 26 gallon tank
At 1.8hp I can pretty much guarantee those specs aren't right. Don't waste anymore time or paint.

I had a customer bring the same product in to paint his hood about 4 years back on his 34 chevy truck. I noticed some sandy looking crap in the strainer when pouring it into the gun, called and he said to just see how it turns out( rest of the truck was already done), so i poured it out cleaned the gun, double strained it and hosed it on. It came out decent but 'seedy' lookingin the sun. Could be your product based on my experience with it. If air pressure was your issue you should have had a very noticeable difference while you were spraying like a big pressure drop or having to turn up your pressure. Could be technique, you want to spray flat blacks as wet as possible, like a beautiful coat of clear, and if you have any dry edges they will show in the sun.

He has less than 1/2 the CFM that a DeVilbiss needs to properly atomize the paint. My guess is that shortly after he pulled the trigger things went down hill. Especially with a 1.5 tip set in it.
Not saying the product isn't bad, I have to take your word for that since I have never sprayed Summit paint.

Probably right 68, the picture does look more like something sprayed at low pressure. If there wasnt anything in yoir strainer id say thats it. If you got a 1.3 you might be able to get away with one piece at a time on a cool day toeffer.
