You are right about adhering to the product data sheet instructions Chris. Of course. I did not mean to offer bad advice. I apologize for any confusion. I will try to refrain from giving advice outside of Product specs. I am familiar with PPG Deltron, Omni, Nason, Cromabase and Matrix. Outside of that I am not terribly familiar.

PPG tech sheets state 24 hours maximum to clear the basecoat, DBC, DBU and Omni. The tech line at PPG will say the same. Not sure why a rep would say 48. There is also no need to sand the basecoat if applying more base unless 24 hours has been exceeded. If sanding was required within 24 hours, it would be a royal pain to to lay down 4 colors or more in 24 hours when doing artwork and graphics. I've only been shooting PPG for a couple decades.
