Full Coat Of Etching Primer?

Is a complete of full coat if etching necessary primer necessary on bare metal? I am covering with full coat(s) of 2k primer.

Bare metal needs to be coated with one of the following:
Epoxy primer (used more and more now days, especially in restoration work) Filler can be applied on top of epoxy and epoxy can be applied on top of filler. Etch Primer (still a good choice if you are in hurry) Filler work must be done first and then etch primer applied. Can not apply filler on top of etch primer. DTM 2k Primer (DTM means Direct To Metal) Check the store here for Tamco DTM 2k primer. 1968 Coronet R/T
