I'm going to be painting the single stage followed by clear on my Mustang's rear axle on Saturday. Do I need to clean the gun between the color and clear? The last time I did this, I painted color one day, and clear the next so I obviously cleaned the gun. But, what about when you're doing it the same day?

Yes, you ought to. Anything stuck in there could come out and look odd, I know you are going over SS but you still don't want any junk in you clear.
