Besides House of Kolor........

Besides house of kolor, im curious as to what others have used for candy and pearl paint jobs. I've never done either, but I have painted a couple of my own cars using PPG base and clear, and a motorcycle tri-coat from PPG as well. Ive been watching/studying the John Kosmoski videos on youTube, but hearing some things about house of kolor has me wondering about alternatives. One company that I keep finding on youTube is All Kandy/theWetWet. Thanks for the help!

I paint a lot of bikes and use PPG. They have the codes for Harley and the others are generally very close matches, some spot on. I have put HOK KK's in DBC 500 because I am not a fan of HOK SG 100. It bit me once and another custom shop does not like it either. I have not tried any others paints except the big dogs.
Createx has a new Candy2O I will be stocking soon. |
How about Eastwood? I see they make a line of pearls and candys..... Anybody try them?

I agree with Scott ^ HoK sg100 or any other "carrier" they make is pretty sensitive.
Use DBC500 usually 10~15% added kandy. I do a ton of kandy on bikes, cars and over spray chrome. PPG Vibarence dye, house of Kolor and Cosmichrome dye is the three I use. Experienced Trained Certified
