I'm redoing a 40s fulton visor that the previous painter didn't bother blocking and came out slightly wavy because of minor dings. paint is atleast a year old from what I hear so its cured. is it possible to just scuff with 180 and top with high build primer and lightly block out that way? imperfections aren't too bad, high build primer and light sanding block will take care of it. but is high build primer ok over existing paint over the existing cured clear coat? thanks guys

yes primer is ok over cured paint. but if it was me i would 80 grit most of it off and use glazing put to skim the whole visor, block it all out nice , then prime.

got to be careful going over other peoples work because you dont know what they did or how thick the paint is
