Thinking about getting a Devilbiss Pri Prolite primer gun, mostly for epoxy. I was thinking about 1.6mm tip size over a 1.4mm which I think I could choke down if I need less fluid to replicate a 1.4mm but still have the large size for thicker paint or if I want to increase travel speed one day
Good idea?
My local epoxy data sheet calls for 1.2-1.6mm and I noticed Tamco calls for 1.6mm. As a sealer I figure the 1.6mm would be tad large, so will choking down on the fluid screw should help?

I don't think you'll even notice the difference.
People give to much thought to the tip size, the differences are real small. I've painted with much larger sizes than 1.6 and not noticed much of a difference. You can always paint with a larger tip, but not always with a smaller tip (if the paint is to thick). JC.
