just wondering for some of you Pros....

does the brand of your 2k clear make a big diff when shooting?
I have been using nothing but Nason & i shoot guitars so i don't need anything fancy that will last over the years since it wont be out in weather & sun, just need something that gets hard fast & i can wet sand within 3 days...
I'm somewhat happy with it but open to suggestions if anyone knows a brand that shoots even easier & doesn't cost a fortune as i don't make much money doing this & don't want to invest in over 75 bucks a gallon...i pay about that for the Nason with hardner..
thanks,
-mark

That's going to be hard pricing to beat especially since you don't really do much production. Since I assume you are doing wood guitars why aren't you using premium wood coatings? There are iso free pre and post catalyzed wood coatings that are used on production guitars, kitchen cabinets, etc., everyday. Pricing is more like $30 to $50 a gallon with cut and buff available the next day. Stuff we use can be put on wood up to 20 mils thick while still being flexible. I'm staring at my satin black kitchen cabinets right now which I did 6 years ago. They look like the day that I sprayed them.....

I would recommend Conversion Varnish
That's what I use on all my furniture projects.
It's a 2K clear finish for wood and comes in different
levels of sheens from dull to gloss.
I've wiped it off with lacquer thinner without bothering it,
Toughest finish out there.
I pay about $35.00 a gallon

P.S.
Nasson clear is the hardest clear I've ever used.
But I don't see any advantage in one being "harder"
Softer clears are more durable and easier to buff.
But they all get the same eventually.
