Hey guys:

New member here. I am not in the trade but love autobody work. I am looking to potentially rebuild this vehicle and wanted to gather the board's thoughts on it. I would love to rebuild it and chronicle the progress on this forum.

Any and all thoughts, ideas, suggestions, appreciated.

It's a total loss.
Front is not too bad, but the rear is a mess.
There's probably better hobby projects out there,
unless you particularly like that one...

Thanks, yes the rear is a mess but the rail and largely intact from what I can see. That, to me, is a very different ballgame and shortening and simplifying the rebuild process. Disagree?

Besides parts costs, the next couple of downsides would be the damage to the package tray and inner quarter area and any unknown damage in the front.

Not saying it isn't repairable

Agree a total loss. Even if it was free it wouldn't be worth the man hours, cost of parts and all the unknowns. Not even a body shop would take that on. There's more to that rear clip than you think.

I'd tackle another project !

I appreciate the feedback thus far. Deez, would you mind elaborating on what the rear entails? I see it as fender, inner fender, trunk floor (possibly), and rear trunk panel (transitioning the two rails), then fitting a new trunk lid. Plus, slight pulling on that rail to spec. All of these panels should drill and spot weld back into place? Is there something I'm missing or mistaken on here?

Do you have a frame machine or a shop that will work with you ? The car can be repaired BUT like everyone said is it worth it time and $ . Oh what kinda of title?? Good luck.

Wondering how much you anticipate that it's going to auction for. Seems like the export buyers overpay for vehicles like that to the point that once you get the vehicle and the parts, you could almost buy a comparable used vehicle with a clean history. That trunk lid alone(bare) is $1300 cost. Headlights if they have the cornering light are $ 3000ish. A used hood is $1700

If your committed to doing it, you should work up a parts list with costs for everything you plan on replacing then adding another 15 percent for items you can't see or plan for.
