So I know as a new guy here I should most likely search the forums for at least a couple hours before asking this question..... But since Google couldn't find my answer I assume the question might be new.
I have built a 1948 Willys CJ-2A body from my own metal and some reproduction parts as well as a Dash Cowl Firewall Tunnel section of an original body.
I want to paint the scuffed up metal with Kirker Enduro Epoxy Primer/Sealer and then do my putty work with 3M Platinum Plus filler and a 3M glazing putty. On top of that I would like to use a couple coats of Kirker Perfect Prime to then bock sand it all out.
Now here's the Question once I have done this can I them put another coat of Kirker Enduro Epoxy Primer/Sealer over top of everything before my Kirker Ultra Glo Urethane top coat?
Oh going with the non Metallic Pacific Blue. This is a slow moving project now that construction season has started and I work 55-60 hours a week.
Thanks for any help.

Yes, you can always cover with epoxy, either as a sealer coat or
full strength. Just remember that once it time lapses past it's recoat window it needs scuffing before painting over. Epoxy is the best base to paint over. And can go under or over most anything. JC.
(It's not custom painting-it's custom sanding) |
