Benefits of Detail Gun?

Hi. I've been using a set of full-size Devillbiss guns for a few years now. I'm wondering what the benefits are of the smaller detail guns. Is there any benefit in functionality besides just being smaller? It's rare that I'm doing anything other that a complete repaint, but I could see where the situation could come up. Worth the extra money, or should I just put a smaller amount of paint in my regular guns?

if you don't spray any small stuff then I wouldn't get one. I have several devilbiss EGAs 502 and 503, I also have a couple of Devilbiss starting line 802405s. I use them a lot on motorcycle frames and tins, tanks, anything about that size there perfect. I spray primer, base and clear, single stage urethane, just about anything.

as with what badsix mentioned, theyre also good for spot repairs.
i believe mine is the same devilbiss as badsixs' and the fan pattern is a wee bit smaller than my tekna, which equals more material on surface which equals less product used. |
