Body work, maybe!

I picked up a 62 Econline pickup.

At some point in the last 55 years something got dropped into the bed and I have a 1 1/2" deep but smooth dent.

Bed is unibody so it cant be pulled off. Access underneath is limited due to drive shaft, rails, axle, etc.

I have a hydraulic ram but no way to hold down the vehicle, so it will probably just lift the vehicle.

I doubt conventional dent puller weld on studs will work.

I have an idea but wanted to see if anybody has seen/heard how a repair might be done?

If this is like a 'Porta-Power', it'll work. The metal will move before the entire vehicle will. Just work a small area at a time and go slowly. Try backing up the ram with a small piece of wood first, to see if the dent will easily push back up.

^^^^^do as night Train said and as you push up with the ram use a block of wood and a hammer on top and tap down around the edges of the area your pushing up.
