So I am planning on a respray about half the car due to too much orange peel in my new clear, I seem to make better progress and can visualize this better with dry sanding 800-1000 grit. Is there anything detrimental to dry sanding? Including the parts that do not need to be recleared? Thank you

Thank you PainterDave I seem to make better progress and don't have to wait to see if the orange peel is knocked down enough. Just didn't want to "screw things up more" LOL

I do both wet and dry. but I went to a seminar years ago and the instructor said that wet sanding fresh clear coat would actual harden it. he suggested always dry sand ?

It's true that moisture will help harden activated products.
But you'll never notice the small difference.
Temperature plays a bigger role.
(maybe ice water?)

(It's not custom painting-it's custom sanding)
