okay guys i think i have just royally screwed up... After applying one coat of clear over my base, i can see a spot in the fender that is darker than the surrounding area because It never was covered 100% by the basecoat. The spot is about 2"x2".. Is it at all possible.. that i could sand through the clearcoat to the base, mask the area off, shoot some base on it, let it dry, then do a wet sand over the top to level it off where the original clear coat ends, and then re-clear over it? Its the only thing i can think of besides sanding the fender down completely again and re-doing the whole thing... which I dont really want to do because this is the only problem area.

what you can do is sand the entire fender- just scuff up the clear-then respray the base and clear on the entire fender. not necessary to sand off all of the finish and start over.

I fix repairs like that all the time by letting the clear dry to touch then just
spraying some more base over the bad area, let the base dry as normal and clear
the entire panel.
Base goes over flashed clear just fine.
After all, clear coat is the best "sealer" out there.

You can't sand clear that has just "flashed"
