Just finished painting a truck topper with Omni single stage. Problem i ran into was that i run out of paint during 2nd coat on the top. What can i do to the section of the top that only has 1 coat? Truck has a lift and nobody will ever see it but it's a friend's truck, not my own. The rest looks good just some dirt. Can i sand and buff to remove the dirt and some orange peel?

Are you going to add anothet coat to the top?

Id start with the least aggressive method as possible and see what the results are. Wet sand the bad areas with 1500, then cut and buff the rest of the truck using a DA. Give it a week or two before you do any of that. You can burn through that top coat real quick if you arent careful.

Two coats is pretty thin to do any serious final sand and polish. You might be able to nib out the dust, but there's just not enough paint on to work with in my opinion.
