Hi all,

I started painting when I was 16.. lol...quite a few years ago..but has been a few years since I've done any custom stuff.
Most of my work has been smaller custom stuff...bikes, sleds, helmets, etc.....
Airbrush history too..

My question is..... I have some (unopened) cans of House Of Kolor top coat, base, and activators....mostly candies.
They have been stored indoors in a temperature controlled area.
Is there a shelf life on unopened (similar) paints?
all still obviously fluid when shaken. Any chemical property issues?

Thanks in advance.

maybe on the activator, when those go bad you wont know it till you paint and it looks seedy, other stuff will last

Thanks...

As mentioned, been a while since I've sprayed....
Starting work on a motorcycle sidecar and checked into materials needed today.
Sucks here (Ontario, Canada) as the majority of materials I used to spray aren't available here anymore..... or simply that the companies stopped making them.
I sure miss the DP90 and Centari... lol..

Need to figure what to use over (partial) existing painted surfaces as well as new panels (fresh steel)...
I'm assuming the old paint that's on it now is single stage acrylic enamel....
need to do some filler too....just light. I used to DP90 then filler then spray hi build primer...
need to do some research to figure out best materials available now...

A...

Sprayed 10 year old base and clear last weekend and it turned out fine. I did not use old catalyst I had, but I did use base, clear and reducer that was that old from HOK, BASF and Color Rite.

I was wondering the same thing. I have some 3 year old ********** red base that I want to sell but don't want to list it if it's not good. Mine has also been stored inside my house and never opened.
