It would help to know what you plan to use it for, just this once.

I'm not a great fan of Eastwood products but their body tools are good.

Sheet metal would be the ONLY place anyone would use a slapping spoon. I was asking for a particular problem you're applying it to. There may be an easier way.

I'm not asking you to throw money away but you should have just learned a lesson about cheap stuff from HF. This is NOT an inexpensive hobby. If the tools seem expensive wait till you buy base coat/clear coat, primer, etc.

why not find an old file and get it bent, I have 1 from my late fatherinlaw and its bloody fantastic, aslong as its not real coarse will begood, it would only take some1 with an oxy a couple of minutes for bend it, then round the ends off, shouldn't cost and more than a few $$, I have a very light slapper I paid around $25 for and never use it, always goto the handmade file, you can buy them already made but if your only using it a few times homemade is the way to go :goodjob:

Its pretty easy to make your own. Thats what I did. If you have some old leaf spings they make great slapping hammers. You can bend them to form a handle or you can just cut them and weld a handle on. Polish it and start slapping metal.

Can a slapper be made from a lawn mower blade? I have a new blade and it looks like it might work.
