what to do after applying clear coat?

Two things, was that a 2k style clear spray can and I assume you're talking about a Porter Cable random orbit polisher? If that was a hardener style clear coat you're probably okay as far as the coating goes. If not you'll probably need a lot more clear coat on there to get aggressive and bring back the gloss. Next, that random orbit machine is more like a maintenance device. A good rotary is needed for the cut and buff process. I'm not saying it can't be done but it's much harder. If you've got enough clear on there and don't have access to a rotary you could just take it to a paint shop and they'll finish up the cut and buff. Shouldn't cost too much.

yes, i was talking about the porter cable polisher. that's what i'm thinking too, just take it to the body shop and have them work on the bumper. i also don't think it's a 2k clear and the can says "super clear".

i got a can of 2k clear made by spraymax and i'm going to attempt one last time. haha!
do i need to sand the old clearcoat off completely with 800 grit or just enough to scuff it? |
Don't sand it off. Just sand/scuff it.
I'm curious about the Spraymax product myself. A man can do all things if he but wills them.
