I have a 00 intrepid and the lights look like #$%@ Can they be buffed back to the clear look? It looks like someone had put some clear on them and now its fading.
Thanks

You might give the Novus line of plastic polishes a try. We use them a lost in the furniture restoration trade to polish clear coats when just about everything else fails. I would think that Novus #2 or #3 would work. Just try a quarter sized area first. Here is their web site. There is a lot of good info. there... http://www.noscratch.com/novus

Remember, if you do the toothpaste method it must be a toothpaste that feels somewhat gritty between your fingers. It works like a fine polish because it contains silicates which is what polishes your nice hard teeth. Keep in mind though that your teeth are quite hard as compared to the plastic you will be working on. If you try it with a buffer do a small test area first. I've seen "home craftsmen" do this to furniture finishes and rip or burn the finish off clean down to bare wood.

If using a rotary buffer, make sure its not on too high of a setting, it can burn into your headlight....
