Go to www.eastwood.com and check out their metal restoration sanding and polishing materials. You might even want to give them a call and get some tech. advice over the phone. Mothers and most other metal polishes are just that, maintenance materials, not restoration materials. Usually metals must be "redressed" which is very much like cutting and buffing done on clearcoat paint jobs. The idea is the scratching leveling process gets finer and finer as you move up with sandpapers, compounds, and finally polishes. It's not rocket science to do but does involve many separate steps if you are indeed headed fo a mirror finish.
Metal, wood, fiberglass, we work it all... www.furniturephysicians.com We can restore the irreplaceable!
