ODG, would you post the link again of your video about buffing with 3M Super Duty? I've been doing every search I can think of to find it...
Thanks!

If the Megs 105 didn't get them out they are much deeper than a compound is going to reach. More than likely you got a speck of dirt under your DA and that's what put those deep scratches in there. 1968 Coronet R/T

the meg 105 really did a nice job. the clear was super soft and if water dries on the surface it leaves eched marks in the clear. I will be trying some other ********** clear next time I paint. what do you guys suggest.

Are you sure you mixed the clear properly? What you are describing just doesn't fit anything I have experienced with ********** clears.
When guys refer to a clear as being "soft" it is in comparison to clears that are so hard they are difficult to wet sand and buff. They are not saying a soft clear remains delicate or easily damaged but just that it sands and buffs easier than the hard clears. 1968 Coronet R/T

its kind of hard to mix a 1 to 1 ratio wrong. I suppose it could happen but I am just not that retarted. I am 100% sure that I mixed it right. I was told that the universal clear was used on show cars and was a very soft clear that scratched eaisily. that makes sense because I can scratch it with a microfiber towel.
I will continue to use ********** products and I am glad I found out about them through these forums but I dont think I will use the universal clear on anything that will be driven on a daily basis. I was also not very happy with the water markes that were eched into the clear. I dont know if that would happen to any fresh clear or if it was a little acidic but the cheap summit clear that I used on a bumper cover does not seem to have the same problem in the immortal words of Frank Sinatra "That's Life"

I suggest you call Barry at the ********** tech line (404) 307-9740 and go through this with him something doesn't sound right. Maybe you got a bad batch of activator or something like that.

Hey 68, I hate to lean away from the topic but... Does ********** have a website that I can browse? Thanks, Jason
