Hi Guys,

I read on here about green pads, orange pads, black pads and so forth.

Are these colors standardized across major brands, or is nearly everyone using the same manufacturer?

My pads are mostly generic brands. The softest are black and light green, the hardest are orange and dark blue.

Is it possible to grade my pads in order simply by squeezing them and determining which is softest and firmest, or is there more to consider, such as the foam 'cell' size or density and the height differences between the peaks and troughs of the waffle cut pads?

Thanks!

Here's a link to pads I use. You will find a lot of information on this site. http://www.autogeek.net/rotary-foam-pads.html
