Adding clearcoat to new clear ?

Discuss anything after that final masking comes off.

My friend has a Subaru with a mural painted on the hood. The painter cleared it with Dupont 2 pack clear and it has some orange peel. I'm unsure how thick the clear is and I want to rub this back, add a couple more coats of clear and cut it to a better glass-like finish. What I'm concerned about is whether the clear will permanently stick to the original clear coat. The original clear coat is about 3 - 4 months old .

Sure thing. Wash it good then wet sand with 1000 grit and your new clear will adhere fine.

Thanks for the info....I've seen acrylic clears de-laminate from the older clear ....I haven't had any experience with two pack paints over a long term period. ...Good to hear it will stay on.
