Color Sanding

I notice on some car shows that they color sand and buff new paint jobs. It is my experience that once you cut a final gloss finish that you can never get it as shiny as an unsanded finish. Even if you clear it it won't be as shiny as an untouched finish. Why do they color sand new paint jobs?

Color sanding and buffing when done right will always improve the depth, clarity and gloss of the paint job IMHO.

Some high end brands color sand and buff every car off the line. Bentley I believe is an example. I agree...if done right it gets the finish perfectly level and incredible DOI (distinction of image).
