I know you can't Polish this Finish because it's too thin & too hard.
But I tried by hand at first with mild cut & polish pads using M205 & even 105. In addition to not removing any large % of original scratches after a few polishes with M205. The polish process left extra tiny visible scratches using both cut & polish pads which is a bit of a mystery to me as this stuff is so hard.
Has this been the case for you?

In part of testing what a rotary can do, I tried M105 with rotary wool pad & it took out much of the random scratches, but put in new scratches, Overall a better result but really only noticeable in broad daylight. But after a polish with M205 the surface now has a slight red-brown tint to it. Not sure why the tint appears. |
I can't say for certain but you may have polished too far and the copper is starting to show through
