I burned thru my clear coat and paint with 1000 grit  . Now I need to fix it. I was thinking scuff with red scotch brite pad ( in burn thru area), spray new base, scuff the rest with grey scotch brite pad and then clear coat the whole panel again. Does this sound right????

I fixed my burn thru, but now I have a hard line from the base coat. Can I sand the edges with 1000 grit to get it to blend better before I clear the entire panel?
