I've been out of car painting for over 20 years and have some old supplies I'm wondering about. I have a nearly full bottle of 3M Liquid Polish 05993 and was wondering a few things. I'm trying to buff out scratches put in my 2003 F150 by going through brush off road here in Arizona. Better know as "Desert Pinstriping". I also have a half bottle of Liquid Ebony No. 27. Went to the paint store before I knew I still had these two products and they gave me 3m Compound 05973 for the scratches.
Should I use the old product up or use the newer compound to do the job?
Also, What would I follow up the 05973 with to remove the swirls if I go that route?

For swirls, most buffing brands have one just for that
labeled "swirl remover" they all work pretty good. I like the one by 3M in their "Perfect It" line. (not cheap) And there are pads made just for swirl removal, I like the foam ones that are usually black in color. JC.
