Wanted to show off my car. Just finished clear-coating
it was done in the driveway using nason base coat and western
select over all clearcoat.
I wanted it to be 2 toned & bright & it is.

The clear coat isnt as smooth as it should be... So
What do I need to do wetsand with 1000 then 1200 and buff
using a wool pad and a black decker 2 speed buffer using
3m perfect it 2 fine compound then use 3m finesse it 2 polish
with a sponge pad.. I also have some meguiars meduim cut
compound maybe I should use that first after the wet sanden
then the other 3m products.. Ive used about a half gallon of clear
so Im pretty sure its covered.. Im worried I guess I just need to
wet sand before buffing.

never use coarser than 1500 if you will be compounding.
you CAN get 1200 scratches out, but it takes a wool pad, and medium cutting compound, and unless you are VERY framiliar with those VERY HEAVY grits, I would stick to 1500-2000 and foam buffing and polishing pads, and fine or micro-synthetic compound. so, soft foam pad, 1500-2000 wet, compound with a foam cutting pad, and fine or micro compound, and polish with a foam buffing pad, and pad glaze, or foam glaze. have fun "I believe the state of arkansas flag colors should be,...................PRIMER"

I like bright colors on the porsche, so
today I managed to finish up wetsanden fine details. Maybe sometime soon I can get around to the foam pad and wax. http://images.snapfish.com/343%3B784723232%7Ffp58%3Dot%3E2329%3D969%3D%3A49%3DXROQDF%3E23238%3A8858547ot1lsi http://images.snapfish.com/343%3B784723232%7Ffp46%3Dot%3E2329%3D969%3D%3A49%3DXROQDF%3E23238%3A8858546ot1lsi |
