When you are color sanding do you have to take the orange peel all the way down or will buffing it finish taking the orange peel down. I guess what i am saying is can i take all the high spots down color sanding then take whats left out buffing. Thanks Dave

Buffing won't take out orange peel, you have to completely remove it with sandpaper first.

hay aberrant,

When you say color sanding do you mean sanding beofre the clear coat is sprayed??

Im still a newbie at this.

When you guys are refering to 1500 and 2000 sand grits are you saying that we sand with these papers before we apply the clear coat.

I find it hard to understand he we can remove orange peel if we are sanding the already cleared product.

can you send me in the right direction?

Cheers jason

No DO NOT sand before clear. What they are talking about is a kinda textury finish that you will be left with after you shoot the clear. The clear is what will be sanded after it is cured.

You sand till the clear is good and flat then buff.

Yes Sand primer with 600 i would block it if i were you so its flat. Then shoot the color coat DO NOT SAND , then shoot the clear, then SAND with 1500 or so followed by 2000 and buff.
