hello, it is my frist time painting. I had an explorer with the clear coat coming off. I sanded with 180 grit, primered, and then wet sanded with 400, and then 600 grit. I started to apply a single stage metallic black paint, when my gun messed up. the gun was completely unreliable and inconsistent, so the result is runs. What should I do? I have enought paint to re-paint, but i'd like to get the runs out as good as i possibly can without scratching up the paint really badly. What grit should I use? and should it be wet or dry? Also, what about buffing?

be gentle with a rasor blade for the runs and sand it with wet 1500 or so, then figure out if that's enough or not
