I bought a NOS Snap On pressure feed spraygun.

Can I attach a suction feed cup on it and use it like a normal conventional spray gun?

Thanks,

Jim

it should work, i've done it the other way around. give it a try and see how it sprays. i used one alot when i painted at work we had quite large fluid tips on some guns to spray heavy epoxys. come to think about it i have a pressure pot here that has a devilbiss mbc on it. i used it to paint some trucks (dump and log) it worked like normal.

OK, thanks.

It does have a .70 tip on it -- can I spray topcoats with it?

It will work but, You will have to change your fluid tip, fluid needle and the air cap for it to work right.
The .70 fluid tip is way to small. You need a 1.4-1.5
You would be better off with another gun. Its gonna cost to much to change it over.

the pressure feed guns have smaller fluid tips so as odg said it needs to be changed.

I have a couple Sharpe guns laying around that I could use for parts if necessary.

By the way: The Snap On gun is supposedly HLVP.

Thanks,

Jim

Sharpe has made Snap-On guns for years. Ive got a Sharpe like this out in the shop that might be 30 years old. Its a great gun!
