I need to have a panel on my car repaired by body shop.

What are the thoughts on spot painting.

If it makes a difference, my car is black.

Thanks

They can blend in the base (Color) over the repair area, but they have to clear the entire panel to do it right.

spotting in an area is a quick fix. itll look alright for a while but if you want it done properly you will have to have the entire panel cleared as dupontguy said. generally spotting in is something that car lots have done to used cars that they wanna clean up a bit.
