Can I put 2k urethane over the dtm primer? High solids urethane? All of the above?

Taking a car to metal and going to dtm epoxy primer it. Then can I use one of the primer above? Then block the whole car?

Thanks

It has a dent in the passenger fender and also in the passenger and driver door. The rest is pretty straight. I was planning on using body filler on the bare metal for those. They are tiny.

My plan is to dtm epoxy the whole car. Then another primer. Probably 2k primer/surfacer from the same manufacturer. Then block the car. Put another coat of primer on is I break through and then block again and paint. Sound good?

What kind of DTM epoxy exactly? You have to be careful as some of the labels are misleading and require a true epoxy or etch primer under the "DTM primer", according to the tech sheets. Download the tech sheets from the manufacture's website to confirm.

Yes, you can use any of the approved primers or topcoats over the DTM primer. It will also be listed in the tech sheets.

I'm sure fordmn1966 is smart enough to read up on the products he has chosen.

All of the questions he asked are answered in the rather vague tech sheet for this product.... Just making sure people are reading the tech sheets before getting ready to shoot. No need for an attitude. ;)

I checked them out. They still leave a lot of questions. Like the DTM epoxy says good to spray over plastic fillings? Not sure what that means but I hope it's plastic...lol.

Either way i'm greatful for the help. I did a search but to no avail. Thanks for the help!

It just means that its safe to spray over all plastic fillers (bondo, evercoat, marson, etc).
