My clear coat is dull & rough from heat, what should I d

I bought a 84' BMW that had Hawaii heat baking it. The clear coat on the roof and hood is dull, faded and very rough looking. What should I do to it make it look good so that I can sell it. ie:sand, buff, polish, compound. I don't know what to do because I'm new at this.

VERY informative! You may want to checl out some of the other pages too some real good stuff.

Also the thread below "Tips on color sanding and buffing" may have useful techniques (where it starts w/ the 1500G onward but Id use 2000 instead) for ur job in those really poor locations.
