I got a part of R-M Diamont BMW Arctic silver to practice with, and the website has 2 options to reduce the basecoat:

Mixing Ratio Instructions
MS Method:
2:1

2 parts Diamont Basecoat Color
1 part UR Reducer
optional 10% BCH2 added to unreduced color portion

Convential Method:
1:1

1 part Diamont Basecoat Color
1 part UR Reducer
optional 10% BCH2 added to unreduced color portion

So 2:1 or 1:1 ?

I spray it 2:1

Coverage is obviously better, I also find it less prone to mottling.
