Hi and thanks for the GREAT forum!
How do I properly prepare a new wool pad before starting to buff?
Thanks,

I usually just hit a new pad with some compound on it on an old hood. I know some guys that will initially wash them. I know www.properautocare.com sells a pad wash you can use for that. I think more important than prepping a wool pad is maintaining it with regular spurring so the compound doesn't lock into the fibers. I use a spurring wheel and prefer it over just using something like a big screwdriver. Worst thing you can do with a wool pad is load it up with too much compound.
