So, I'm watching Overhaulin last night and they're redoing Foose's old truck and i hear them say "Charlie is applying the single stage black paint...he applied three coats so that they could wetsand later".
Why single stage? I thought that all of the high end jobs were two stage jobs. Is there a specific reason for doing black in single stage?
Anyone see Overhaulin last night? Foose Truck

I know that Foose has a body & paint crew but I sometimes question what I see on these shows. Anybody who does quality restorations knows that it's almost impossible to convert a rust bucket into a solid build within a week. But who knows, Foose could have 100 warm bodies behind the scene....working their fingers to the bone.
But you know what, I really enjoy watching them. |

I've also noticed quite a few times on american hotrod that they use single stage. Didn't watch overhaulin. Maybe its a california thing.

I watched it too, and was going to ask the same thing. Why would they use a single stage, it was a single stage, beetle baily was polishing it and the wool pad was black, but why? This was a special show, 90-100 day build.
