Hey Doug

First attach the hinge to the body then attach door to hing at same time spring with strait pin side hooks into door in small slots in glove box door other side with hooks just pushes on hinge simple.

one side of spring with the hook is pushing on hinge to open door the other side is pushing against door or were it attaches to dash, it appears the way I explained it above may or may not work looking at attach points for hinge but the side with the hooks definitely catches on hinge frame to spring door open the other side that.s strait will be wound so it assists or sets tension on spring for it to open. Once you start bolting or screwing it together it should be fairly simple to figure out were the strait side of spring goes.

And ya I don't know anyone that's paying Photobucket there extortion money

Thanks Dennis I’ll give it a try. I have tried about everything. Th spring is just to give a initial push to the door. Frustrating!
it needs to be lowered with big and littles. .

By looking at the hinge in that picture its hard to tell which side of the hing screws on to the door or where? I see the two screws in the door about mid panel but I would think it bolts on on the lower side of the door? But the hinge doesnt look wide enough to bolt or screw in in those bottom holes? is there another missing piece maybe?

The two arms bolt to the cage nuts with the slot next to them in the door. Double click on the picture to see the feet that go in the slots. The little T slots in the door bottom are for little rubber bumpers that keep the door from marring the dash when open

the connection of the hinges with the double d holes bolt inside the dash parallel to the floor of the car. if i bolted it together as shown in the picture it would be fully open. the shape of the hinge allows the door to open over the bottom lip of the dash and there is no room for the spring to touch the door, it all has to be done behind the dash and the hinge frame. sna I think I might have something missing but what. I have another door and hinge that I bought on ebay (Lost my original for a while CRS :knockout: ) that is the same.

Can the strait side of the spring be flipped back in over the outside hinge metal?
of course you may have to wind spring around once so it forces hinge to open or it may force door closed ?

That leaves the hook side on the inside hinge.

Calvin and I were out there all day yesterday trying to install my new Used Two post lift.
It turns out my Garage floor isn't as flat as once thought lol What a Pain in the buttocks!
It turns out Putting it where I want isn't going to work without a Lot of Grinding of the Concrete OR Pouring more on Top to level it out at least on the one side. If I put it a couple of feet over where I can put it in with minimal shimming and no grinding or pouring, I am going to have to move my other 4 post lift over a Foot or two so I can get a car through the Two post lift and on to the 4 post lift and still be able to get a car into and out of the Paint booth which is gonna force me too rearrange the whole shop set up of my work areas and placement of all my shop equipment.

I'm not totally against the idea of rearranging the whole shop as it was originally set up more for auto repair. The shop has just grown into Fabrication/restoration paint shop which is a totally different than what I started out doing.

Dennis, are you grinding, pouring or rearranging?

Rob, just put the house up for sale last weekend you know what fun that is :realmad: We are downsizing looking for a one story with a 3 car or larger garage, real hard to find around here. got to get away from stares my back is giving me trouble again and I'm not going to have another operation.

Sorry guys, I've been hibernating. Dennis put the snow curse on me a year or two ago, it's been stupid ever since, comes down a foot at a time :splat: :splat: :splat: Most of it has finally melted so I can get back to my siding, been sick as a dog for 2 weeks to boot :knockout:

I feel for you about moving Doug, what a horrendous pain that is, hope it goes as smoothly as possible and your back gets back in shape. I'm never moving again, told my wife my next home will be the funeral home and I'm not kidding :goodjob:

Trying to figure out how to get all the trim off the Riv, haven't found anything usefull on the net, was hoping for some nice youtube clips but nothing

Got some help on the Riv trim removal from the Riv forum, would never have guessed how some of that stuff comes off, some very clever guys there :worthy:
