Grill is looking good.... Hey, just wanted to let you know I tore the internet apart trying to solve your mirror parts problem, man, none of my usual sources or even some of the guys that know this stuff had any ideas for me...... Might have to fab. something up or cobble something from a similar part....

Thanks for trying. I searched the net, craigslist, eBay, etc. and couldn't find anything like it. I took the part number from a factory diagram and searched for it, again nothing. The owner said he was planning to put upgraded mirrors on it eventually anyway, so told me not to worry about the door mirrors. 1968 Coronet R/T

Cancelled my June 15th order from Eckler's Truck and reordered the chrome vent window assembly from a seller on eBay. It came in 4 days.

Looking like a Brand new rig every day!
On Side note, I have seen that door bracket in the drivers side door many times. BUT never seen it in a Passenger door. Thats why the door skins are always cracked or bolts have pulled through the skin. A GMC 67-72 Camper special may have what you need? But they were rare trucks! The Beds had an extension by the Cab making them a Tad longer than normal trucks with the long bed they also had dual fuel tanks as a standard I believe? GMC was always the better rig. Dennis B.

Bumper hardware arrived this afternoon, so I was able to get the front bumper installed.

Now for the fun part !
I painted the front of the bed and then reinstalled it. It took a lot of effort to get the metal straight enough for a skim coat of filler. Someone had pressed spent ammo cartridges into the upper trim holes distorting the metal around them. I found a screw head that would just fit inside the hole and clamped the screw into some vise grips. Using a pry bar I lightly lifted the edges of the holes which helped straighten the metal. Still have a long way to go on this side of the bed. Fortunately, I do not have to worry about the inside since the owner will install a bed liner. 1968 Coronet R/T
