Dang thing drives like a New car very impressed and no ABS lights!!!!
If I thought new hubs would have made such a dramatic change to how the car handles I would have installed them sooner.

Nice when something you fix or upgrade makes a big difference. Doesn't always work out that way.

So in the middle of getting the new roof on the motor for the frame stops working. Brought it home and turns out it's just a fuse. I have a 25 in there and it only calls for a 20 so not sure what happened there. Could be that he over heated the motor if he was moving it up and down a lot? It has a new switch and new wiring but original motor.

Before I could get it back to the upholstery shop the first snowfall of the year hit. Got about 8" of the stuff Tuesday, supposed to get about the same tonight. Could be a while before I can get the job finished.

No fun
I bet he was running motor a bunch
Can you get a new motor? or does the original have to be rebuilt?

My Heart dropped when BMW roofs red light started blinking, pushed button again and it closed properly. Have open it and closed it a couple times since then no issues.
I never have been a fan of convertibles, Now I have one.
But Always liked T tops and Sun roofs?

That's my guess too. Typically, you put the roof up or down once not repeatedly so most likely overheated. We blew the fuse when we were bleeding the system, but it must have gone up and down 30 times. Seems unlikely that he would do it as many times. It is an old motor so could be wearing out. They do make replacement motors so we'll see how it goes, may have to replace it.

I like the idea of convertibles more than I actually like them. The weather has to be perfect, not too hot, not too cold so that really limits it. Usually too cold here and too hot where you are. The Stang definitely looks way better with the top down. I'm not a big fan of the Mustang coupe which is what it looks like with the top up.

I too am not a fan of the Mustang coup I like the Fast Backs and convertibles like you have.
I am not a fan of my own Convertible either wish it was a coup.

Been playing with VW more, The dam thing drains the Battery after a day or two.
Found that the Alternator while it worked and made power had a huge Voltage drop through it took it off took it to Autozone they tested it and yup it was bad! BUT they could not find my Life time warranty on it so I had to buy another New one.

Also found 2 other circuits that that have current flow while car is asleep. But are extremely small one is .1 milli volt other is .2 milli volt. Not sure if these are problems or not.

Learned new tricks in process, Dam car has a Timer built into computers that keeps power on a few circuits after shut down. After it goes to sleep fully takes 15-20 min. with door lock latched but door open I was able to measure Voltage drop across fuses that are Hot at all times to track down circuits draining battery. been eliminating problems one at a time.

The Factory manual made by Bently is absolutely worthless for trouble shooting electrical problems even though they put over 300 pages of worthless circuit prints in the book.
I spent $20 on ALLDATA 1 month subscription because I had circuit that was driving me nuts all day trying to trace it out all day By Bently manual, Had it fixed in in 15 min with the All datta stuff!
AllData includes service bulletins and other helpful stuff I am impressed over all will be buying a 3 year subscription for the car as much as I have to work on it.

I also seem to have a problem with the battery in the Stang drawing down when nothing is on. I have a battery disconnect on it and forgot to turn it off. Couldn't start the car after only a few days so that's another thing I have to sort out.

I wish he could have finished the top on it. I still have door panels and whatnot to do but can't until I'm sure the windows are all adjusted properly. They're calling for snow again so the top is on hold, probably until early spring unless I get lucky.

Picking away at the TR for now. Unfortunately it's in the garage not the shop and it's freezing in there, literally.

Chris figured out why I was having problems posting pics. Most were too big. I loaded a file compressor app. It's pretty cool, shows how many MB your photos are. Mine range from 3 to 6.5 Not a clue why? Two virtually identical pics have way different sizes?

I like Photo bucket automatically resizes pics so I don't have to worry about it.
But at same time when I move pics around in the order I want on my account it breaks the links if I posted them on a web sight such as this one.

A good test for finding circuits draining battery.
Turn off car get access to fuse box if you have to leave door open make sure door latch is closed if it turn off lights in your mustangs case make sure door light switch is held closed.
Take your test lamp and probe fuses too see which circuits are hot all the time, Then take Your Multi meter set it to Milli volts put probes on each side of fuse and see what reading you have. anything more than .1 or .2 milli volts COULD be the problem.

Don't forget to check Alternator and the Starter the same way the same way sort of from battery to the Alternator 12v bat post same for starter. As I found my Alternator was causing a huge drain when car was off.
You can also use one of those fancy current meter clamp on deal on multi meter I don't have one of those yet gonna get one.

I used to use photobucket until they decided to charge me or they would water stain all my pics. I copied all my pics on there and saved them on thumb drives. Everybody wants to have their hand in your pocket. I have Arlo security cameras, work great, no monthly fees. Bought another one recently and after a month or two it stops recording and I get notice there's a monthly fee to get it to work. Same thing with an HP printer I got, threw that straight into the garbage. Everybody out there is trying to $6.99 you to death. :realmad:

Those are some great tips on the electrical. I'll have to print that. Thanks for that!

Have you ever tried to fill a small crater in the clear with clear blender and a drop of clear? I have one that's a bit bigger than 1/16". You only see it from certain angles but it's enough to annoy you.

No I would have found it while painting and sanded it out and re-cleared.
May work may look worse have no idea? let me know how it comes out?

k declaring VW fixed again let it sit two days started right up so maybe battery draining issue is fixed.
Started on Father in laws 89 Nissan Axxess mini van, He had some one do a Valve job on it after it lost a Timing chain and has been fouling out #4 cylinder with oil ever since does it in less than 30 miles hes been changing plugs repeatedly.
I did a Leak down compression test on it its leaking pretty good on that cylinder and sounds like its either Broken rings or a Broke Piston so I pulled the engine yesterday.
Headed up to the local Hardware store to get some Grade 8 bolts so I can put in on one of my engine stands & tear it down see whats going on will let you know.

I have done this. I first take a tiny drill bit to "sand" the pit, drop a bit of slow reducer into the it, let it dry, and put a drop of clear into it as soon as the thinner dries. Works pretty well, you really have to be looking for it to find it.
