Ok so the fence project is done, As is the Fiberglass tank projects which took forever! a lot longer than I had anticipated!
I also finished up the Commander brakes which were a nightmare! First new rotors and pads followed by a Master cylinder and a booster then the AC quit which ended up requiring a full rebuild new AC box, Evaporator, Condenser and two pumps! first one was bad from stock two different expansion valves as first was bad from stock rear AC expansion valve. all in all No FUN! lots of time and money.
The BIG project thread

Good to hear you got the fiberglass tanks done, that's a big messy job!
My old Riviera wouldn't start this spring when I went to start it for the first time. No spark so I did the usual cap, rotor, condenser and points but I figured this was a good excuse to replace the beat up hood, makes access to the distributor a lot easier. I had a replacement hood that needed some work to but was pretty solid. Did the bodywork and paint, put it on and have all sorts of fit issues that make no sense? It's the proper hood but now the hood latch is too far back and too high, also the back of the hood sits about 3/8" above the cowl. One side it looks like I can drop the hinge down a bit, the other side is down as far as it will go. I'm at a total loss as to how this is even possible? I'm going to remove the hood latch for starters and see what I can do with the back of the hood first. This was supposed to be a quicky deal, wasn't planning on spending too much time on this car, it's 3rd in line to build. Rob

I removed the hood latch and with the front of the hood down where it needs to be, the back is now at least 1/2" high, probably more.
How can a simple hood swap end up like this? Never touched the hinges or anything, 4 hinge bolts that's it. Rob

It took some effort but I managed to adjust everything so it's pretty darn good. The front lip to fenders isn't great but never was. That will be dealt with later when I get around to restoring the car.
Still have no idea how everything could change so much on a simple re and re? Rob

well it looks good now?
I really want one of those cars some day I really really like them. Some day maybe. Yes Got the Fiberglass done thank God! took forever. I have since brought the BMW in and did a much needed Brake job with new Rotors including Parking brakes I also swapped out a bad O2 sensor that would through a code intermittently all is well now Not one thing wrong with it except it could use a good wet sand and polish. After I finished the BMW I pulled the Corvette back on the lift and finally pulled the Transmission again, The builder still swears nothing is wrong with it and refuses to deal with it. So I will do it myself. I tried to mount the Transmission on one of the two Transmission building mounts I purchased only to find out one is for a Mustang T56 and the other appears to be for a Fire bird/Camero T56 so I had to find one for a Vett lucky for me their was one on Ebay cheap I purchased it but USPS is way behind and its delayed was supposed to be here on the 6th and its still not here. At least my plan to have all the tooling to do these transmissions is in full play as I have 3 common mounts for them now. Dennis B.

Started tearing down the Vett Transmission
I Just took the rear cover off and I started getting pissed really pissed this is not an overhauled transmission! Its full of Metal and dirt grime. I am gonna photo document everything but I have half a mind to wait for the new video equipment or try recording it with my phone. Dennis B.

Weird I didn't get notification on these posts?
The Riv hood is pretty good but this car is going to be a challenging build when I get to it. Really bad panel fit from accidents. It just blows my mind how badly people drive, it's been hit all over the place I gather. I haven't had an accident in close to 50 years. I thought about doing the You tube video thing but I don't think I'm organized enough to do it but I sure appreciate the guys that are! I'm a visual learner, reading about it doesn't help me nearly as much as seeing it. The Supernova is a great gun, I have an Iwata LPH400. The Supernova came out right after that. I picked up a Devilbiss DVI a few months ago, really nice gun. What a cute Jack Russell, you try keeping up with one of those and you're bound to lose weight, they're like border collies, all go and no stop. Serious Black is super cute too. Isn't a Cane Corso the same as an Italian Mastiff? My neighbor has one but it basically looks like a giant pit bull, super loveable but quite an intimidating look. That sounds pretty fishy with the transmission build, full of dirt and grime. I suppose a lazy enough guy could build it and leave the case like that but given that it had problems right away seems mighty suspicious. It would be nice to do a quality video documenting it and then report him to whatever authority is appropriate. Guys like that need to be shut down. Started picking away at the TR again. The one front fender is so bad I had to walk away a few months ago and reset. Can't get a replacement so I'm stuck with fixing it Rob

I had a terrible time test fitting my Studebaker hood. I would try logically adjusting the hinges and get the opposite result. I ended up putting the hood on with the hinges loose and was able to tighten them from inside the fender well with it closed. That was the only way I could get it adjusted right, it didn't even make sense to me.

Yes I think your right the Cane Corso are very similar or the same as a Mastiff?
But this little guy is a Mix Mut anyway he looks like a Pit to me so did his mother in my opinion but the owner showed me her papers and a DNA deal. I got the Transmission tore down and ordered a bunch of parts I am not happy with the bill at all. I had a Buddy that supposedly knows how to work on them help me try to get the Syncro hubs off the main shaft and he Broke the Blocker ring for 1/2 gear again not happy when I found out that it was a very expensive part and very hard to find. then the slider on 3/4 was complete fubar no wonder it wouldn't stay in third it wont slide back and forth at all ! Any way I ordered enough every thing will be new when I am done with it. Dennis B.
