first of all great site lots of info on here ive been looking around for a while to fund decent auto body forum and well i guess ive found it :D

not sure if this is where i should be posting this as its going to be more questions than anything so ill just post up my progress ans i go along.
First of all have done a couple of spray painting courses at my local tech colledge but the only real knowledge i gaind was holding a gun, sanding and buffing this means i need a dead straight car in primer to acheive a reasinable finish :(

so the car, i baught it pretty cheap so i dont want to strip it back to metal or anything major just get some sort of even colour on it to make it more presentable,
the problem is most of the paint will scrape off with a plastic paint scraper to reveal a pretty decent layer of spray putty so my question is what is going to be the best aproach to getting a reasonable finnish?
here is a couple of pics
