Did the Whole Job. If memory Serves me correct it was PPG DCU 2042 for the clear. I wet sanded with 600 and went up to at least 2500. I don't remember If I had any of the mirka abralon back then. If I did I may Have buzzed it with 4000. I was using all 3m products back then so likely perfect it 2 rubbing coumpond and swirlmark remover. I may have had some sure finish as well. Have a hard time remembering what I did yesterday let alone what I buffed with 4 years ago . Do remember spending a whole lot of time though

nice work
most of the custom stuff round here looks great till they let whoever buff the **** things. I see more and more custom stuff getting round looks awesome in the shade then the sun comes out and you can hardly see the flames through all the **** holograms and swirls. I like your work right there, any more pics of the last 4 years work lol Chris |

It's so not profitable to put the hours into the cut/buff unless the
shop is well managed. Each department needs to be highly efficient. DBS and other detailers, How many shops actually produce a slick (no swirly) finish? If so, how big are the shops? A man can do all things if he but wills them.

thanks guys.
Han, mosts shops won't spend the time to get a flawless finish ( if the painters good they won't have to buff at all) but they should be able to get a **** nice finish without a whole lot of effort. I find the biggest challange is wiping down the car afterwards without putting any marks in it ( on fresh paint) DBS, I'll dig up some more work sometime. Thanks for asking |
A "flaw less" finish can mean different things. In collision, matching
factory orange peel (some more severe than others) is an art. And a decent painter should be able to get it done. I'm currently unable to get a dead perfect, "glass" like finish. But no issues matching peel and color (usually). And it's mostly nib sand and polish. Spending rediculous times to clean/mask and flush out the booth makes all the difference as i also work in the booth too. For customs and higher-end completes, these jobs mean lots of cut and buff. A man can do all things if he but wills them.
