Here's the current project I am working on.
This one needed more "help" than what it first appeared to.
Took up the carpet and pad:
Under the metal patches:
Trunk floor patches removed:
"The" quarter panel made of bondo:
Trunk floors going in:
New floor brace installed:
Sprayed some epoxy to get a break from the "dirty" work:
I'll post more when I get the chance.

You sure do like them easy projects.

Now that you mention it, it does seem like I end up with the jobs no one else wanted! 1968 Coronet R/T

Holy cr*p & I thought the Datsun was a basket case!! At least i didn't find a 3" thick layer of bondo on it. I hope you're charging him about 10K. Good luck, keep the pic's coming.
Is that the model with the "flex" driveline? |

Nice work, how well do the reproduction parts fits and do they need much massaging ? I wish similar quality replacement parts were available for my project instead of spending hours on end repairing and unpicking used panels.

Sometimes they fit like a dream and other times you cut, stretch, weld, pound with hammer, etc. The center brace I bought from AMD went in with absolutely no problems while the floor pans from Goodmark seamed to fit "okay" but the center seam only met together at points along the way. It was perfect at the back, 1/3 of the way down, about 2/3 of the way to the front however between those points there were gaps ranging from 1/16" to 3/16" and then it was short of metal by 1/2" at the cowl area. You could see that the center edges of the pans were not cut straight. Ended up cutting a piece of metal about 8" long that went from nothing to 1/2" to weld in that spot. Just got back from vacation so I'll have some updated pictures by week's end. 1968 Coronet R/T

Another little surprise was this A Pillar rust:
Made a patch: Pans are 95% installed. Still need the bucket seat brackets and some sealer and cosmetic work once they are epoxied. 1968 Coronet R/T

The used quarter panel arrived. All in all not bad for a 46 year old piece of metal (from a '64 model).
Pulled the left quarter off the car and found a wheel house in need of some help. And some rusted areas: Wire wheel and some SEM rust converter for these hidden areas: Used the extra parts from the replacement quarter and some new metal for patching: Primed: Test fitting: Won't be welding anything until I fabricate the patches needed for the lower right quarter panel and wheel housing. Also need to strip and epoxy the used quarter skin before installing. Hope to be finishing up this body work by next week so I can move on to prepping for paint. 1968 Coronet R/T
