Finally got back to the running boards. I decided to work smarter and not harder. My brother-in-law has access to a huge sheet metal brake so I gave him the dimensions and he had some co workers bend them up out of 14 gauge. They are heavy duty. I used some templates I had made and cut the curves out. I also welded three small 1/8” plates and some studs on the underside for mounting. I have a little finessing left and also have to make the filler piece to the front fender but I’m extremely pleased with how this one turned out. It’ll look a lot better after I get it primed. I’m planning on starting on the other side tomorrow. I’m thinking of adding a few aluminum trim strips later on.
