Thanks Jayson
I cant get my head around how they did the spot welds on the lower section of the front quarter where it meets the rocker panel / sits on top of the rocker forward of the rear wheel does that makes sense????

I know I will figure it out once I get started dissecting it, That trunk floor piece at the Shock tower's was a trick.

I got it up on my body roller now should be easier to get cleaned up

Skinned out a couple quarters first, I have since decided to sell these instead of using them.

My Very first attempt at welding holes shut not bad but needs a lot more work

The repair panels, If you look at the originals they have a large Joggle or Step in the rear that the rear Valance panel tucks into this is missing from these after market panels buyers beware no one told me! these came as best fit from a large Pontiac parts source as best on market........ really? NOT! the one goes in front of wheel look at body line more than a bit Poud isnt it?
plus it goes Way down to far on the panel... again these are being sold as best fit by reputable company. sorry I wont be using them as is.

I cut one of em up and now I make these myself to fix the wheel well lips, Wasn't hard took dog leg cut it into 3 -4 pieces 2-3 inches wide pounded flat then bent into a 90 and started stretching a side worked a whole lot easier than I thought it would be.
I wont be wasting my money on little patch panels any more that's for sure.

Jason or any one else that cares this is the part I had reserves about
Just my opinion but I think I would much rather have a car thats never had the quarters cut on OR They were replaced by some one that is an expert at collision repair I would not trust this repair to just any one! If the work is not performed correctly the car can and probably will be destroyed in my opinion. The work in this area is super critical I dont think very many people understand that.

This is before any cleaning but this is after removing half the inner wheel well.

Not Joggle grove step what ever you wanna call it.

This is the way the panel comes Note the lack of the Grove or Joggle Major body line what ever you call it.

Looks like you are making good progress Denis. But for the life of me I can't understand why you didn't change the complete quarter panels especially since you had access to nice used ones. This would cut down drastically on time to patch up originals that are too far gone IMO.That said it will be much easier to clean off the rust by sandblasting the inners once the panels are off.It will be so much easier to change the inners drop offs etc.I don't get it but you are doing it the hard way, good luck.

Jason
trying to save as much as I can I have like 5 of these cars to do only one set.

I figure I can save these if I cut ALL the pitting out? No?

Time is what I have in abundance most of all at the moment....

There is no point, you cut it out and patch it then it rusts out beside the patch.Just because you have the time doesn't mean its efficient.By the time you do all the patching and smear **** near the whole panel and countless hrs of sanding you will end up with a substandard repair.I completely understand wanting to save an original panel but yours are not worth it,plenty of rust free parts in your neck of the world.Just my opinion take it or leave it....
