Undercoated the bottom of the cab with a bedliner kit. I will also be spraying it on the interior floor.

I welded up all the interior seams and grind them smooth to give it that smooth and finished look that was lacking from the factory. I got it in primer and now it needs to be blocked sanded. I'm happy with the look so far. It was a lot of work but I've been told many times that the devil is in the details.

I mocked up the hydroboost unit and plumbed the brake lines.

I know its over kill but I base coat cleared the gas tank just because. No other reason.

Here is the tank installed between the frame rails.

Corvette filter/regulator installed

Modified the tank a little for the in-tank fuel pump and lines.

I knew I had to raise my bed floor 2 inches due to my c-notches. I was looking in metal yard for some scrape tubing and I could not find anything I liked, I decided to make my own 2 inch spacers. I try to keep things simple it makes life easier, but of course I will have to move the angle strips on the bed up 2 inches so that bed sits in the same spot as factory.
I will use the bolt to hold the washers in place and then weld it together.
Image

Image

Here is one of the spacers completed. I will need six of them for the three cross sills.
Image

I welded the spacers to the frame.

Just checking cross sill bolt alignment.
Image

Finished and repainted.
Image

Before I mount the bed I have to move the angle strips up two inches and bed should fit like factory but the floor will be two inches higher.

Anyway, here is a test panel I sprayed to see if I like the color I chose. Yeah its kind of flashy and I'm usually conservative when it comes to color but with all the mods I think the truck called for a flashy color.
Image

Here is the panel with wheels I bought for the truck just to try to get an idea. The truck will have no emblems and the only chrome will be the bumpers. So I wanted to see the color against the polished aluminum wheels.

Time to start blocking everything. The firewall is looking pretty good.

Well if people seem interested I will continue to update. With a wife, kids, and another ride to work on, I'm really not rushing the truck. But I will get her done.

I am self taught. I've never took one class for this stuff. I've learned everything I know through trial and error and of from being too poor to pay people.lol

Yes I do all frame work from z'ing frames, clip installations, or whatever is needed. I wish I had help but I don't I'm all on my own. I started out stick welding back in the day. I use to install camaro clip, volare clips and things like that on my brothers trucks, cars and low riders. I was about 13 years old when my brothers had me doing that stuff. As time when on I moved to metal fab and sheetmetal work once I got a mig welder, I've been tig welding for about 2 years but I practice everyday even if its for 20 min.

I'm going to start another thread of some projects I've worked on for others in the past couple of years. I don't want to murk this one up and confuse people who may be interested in the truck. I put pics of several different projects on another site and it just confused people.lol
